Anxiety
- By depressing the brain and spinal cord, alprazolam promotes dizziness, reduces activity, and alertness. This can help to reduce excitability and relieve symptoms of anxiety in individuals with history.
Panic disorders and dysphoria
- By allaying the fears and calming down anxiety, alprazolam can help with offering relief with panic disorders and dysphoric states.
- Alprazolam can also be used to calm the anxiety associated with pre-menstrual syndrome.
Seizure disorders
- Alprazolam by inhibiting the nerve impulses can help with reduced excitation of nerves, thus contributing to seizure control.
- Alprazolam can be used as an anticonvulsant, for seizure control, in combination with other antiseizure medications.
