Patient was educated on precautions to be exercised while taking Janumet as follows:
- Report any symptoms of stomach upset, such as, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and metallic taste in the mouth immediately to your doctor.
- Take weight reading at least twice a week and maintain a log of every reading for comparative feedback. Maintain an ideal weight for your height.
- Also, notify your doctor, if the blood sugar continues to be high, despite taking Janumet as recommended, so that, your medication dose could be revised.
- Be aware of any signs and symptoms of acute pancreatitis, such as, severe upper abdominal pain, radiating to the back, along with nausea and vomiting. This is a serious side effect of use of Janumet, that should be immediately reported to the physician.
