Patient was educated on some of the major causes which lead to the development of deep vein thrombosis as follows:

  1. Inherited Clotting Disorder
  • Patients with some inherited clotting disorders can have thick blood, which makes them more prone for clot formation.
  1. Pregnancy and Obesity
  • Pregnancy and obesity increase the pressure in the deep veins of the legs.
  • This increased pressure in the deep veins will contribute to slowing of blood flow and consequent clot formation.
