Patient was educated on precautions to be exercised while taking Celebrex as follows:

  1. Maintain a close watch on the volume of urine flow at every void, and add up all the volumes for the day, to obtain 24-hour volume. Report to the physician at the notice of any unusual drop in the urine volume.
  2. Celebrex intake can result in photosensitivity and skin rash with blister formation. Avoid bright sunlight and tan parlors, while you are taking Celebrex. Using a sunscreen can prevent the risk for photosensitivity.
  3. Celebrex can sometimes result in ringing in the ears and hearing loss, especially, when taken with Lasix. Avoid taking this medication with Lasix to prevent this drug interaction.
  4. Maintain strict compliance with intake of Celebrex as ordered, with regards to dosage and frequency, to derive the benefit of the medication. The dose and length of treatment depends upon the medical condition, severity of pain, and response to treatment.
  5. Evenly space out the doses of Celebrex and take the dose at the scheduled time every day. Keeping to the schedule helps to avoid forgetting the medication.
  6. If you are taking Celebrex on an as needed basis, do not wait for the pain to peak to have your pill. Pain medications work best when taken at the first appreciation of pain, before the pain peaks.
