Patient was educated regarding stable angina as follows:

  1. This is the most common and easily managed variety of angina.
  2. Stable angina is a form of angina precipitated by exercise and stress.
  3. The disproportion between the demand and oxygen supply to cardiac muscle is brought about by conditions such as, physical exercise, emotional stress, cold temperatures, and heavy meals.
  4. The chest pain can be mild and lasts for a few minutes.
  5. Adopting measures such as, stopping all activity and taking rest can offer relief from the chest pain and prevent the angina progressing to a full-blown heart attack or myocardial infarction.
  6. Knowing the risk factors and adopting measures such as, planning and allowing activity within endurance limits, practicing deep breathing, avoiding extremes of temperatures, and eating frequent small meals, can help prevent further occurrences of this chest pain.
