Patient was educated on short-acting insulins as below:
- Short-acting insulins are insulins that are fast acting and have a shorter duration of action than insulins belonging to the intermediate and long-acting groups.
- These insulins have a short onset of action of 30 minutes. The action of these insulins peak in about 2 to 3 hours. These insulins continue to exert their action for a total duration of 4 to 6 hours.
- Examples of regular or short acting insulins include, Humulin R, Novolin R.
