- These are arranged into groups based on some properties, such as, onset of action, peak action, and duration of action of insulins.
- Based on these properties, insulins have been grouped into the following:
- Rapid-acting insulins
- Short-acting insulins
- Intermediate-acting insulins
- Long-acting insulins
