Patient/caregiver was instructed regarding priming the Semaglutide pen as follows:

  1. If you are using a new Semaglutide pen, always remember to make sure the label on the pen matches the medication you are prescribed.
  2. Always remember to prime the new pen. You do this only once for every pen that you use for the first time. Turn the dose adjustor until the flow check symbol aligns with the pointer.
  3. Hold the pen with needle pointing straight up and press the dose dispensing button until 0 mg lines up with the pointer and a drop of medication shows at the tip of the needle. The pen is now ready for use.
  4. If the drop of medication doesn’t show at the tip of the needle, turn the dose adjustor back again, until the flow check symbol aligns with the pointer and repeat the step 3 mentioned on this instruction. You can repeat this task to make sure the drop of medication shows at the tip of the needle.
  5. If the drop of medication does not show at the tip of needle, try changing the needle, turn the dose adjustor back again until the flow check symbol aligns with the pointer, and repeat the step 3 mentioned on this instruction.
  6. Do not use an Semaglutide pen, if the drop of medication does not show at the tip of the new needle. Notify your doctor on the same.
