Patient was educated on the importance of iron mineral as follows:

  1. Iron is an essential nutrient of human diet.
  2. Iron is required to produce red blood cells in the human body.
  3. Iron forms central part of hemoglobin in the red blood cells. Hemoglobin helps pick up oxygen from the lungs and transport it to the tissues.
  4. Once oxygen is delivered to the tissues, iron also picks up carbon dioxide from the tissues and transport it to the lungs for elimination.
  5. Iron is an essential part of many enzymes in the body that are needed for the biological functions and metabolism of nutrients.
