Patient/caregiver was instructed regarding side-effects to expect after receiving nasal flu vaccine as follows:
- Administration of nasal flu vaccine can result in mild side-effects such as,
- Runny or stuffy nose
- Cough
- Sore throat
- Mild difficulty breathing
- Muscle aches
- Headache
- Low-grade fever with chills
- Nausea & vomiting
- Exhaustion & tiredness
- Loss of appetite
- Dizziness & confusion, which can contribute to fall risk
- Most of these side-effects after receiving nasal flu vaccine are short-lived and resolve in a day or two. Report to your physician if these side-effects are severe and/or continue beyond 2 days.
