Patient was educated on how to prime a Levalbuterol aerosol inhaler as follows:

1. When a new canister of Levalbuterol aerosol inhaler is being used, the canister may not deliver the correct amount of medication with the initial actuation of the inhaler.
2. So, priming of the Levalbuterol canister should be done, to make it ready for use.
3. Insert the Levalbuterol canister firmly into the mouthpiece.
4. Take the cap off the mouthpiece and shake the Levalbuterol inhaler well for 5 seconds.
5. Hold the inhaler at an arm distance, away from your face and press on the canister to release the medication into the air for two times.
6. Improper medication delivery happens to be an issue even with old canisters that have not been used for more than a week or two. Priming of such canisters also helps proper release of Levalbuterol on actuation.
