Patient/caregiver was instructed upon therapeutic uses of Versed as follows:
Anxiety
- By depressing the brain and spinal cord, versed promotes dizziness, reduces activity, and alertness. This can help to reduce excitability and relieve symptoms of anxiety in individuals with history.
Seizure disorders
- Versed by inhibiting the nerve impulses can help with reduced excitation of nerves, thus contributing to seizure control.
- in Individuals with history of status epilepticus present with uncontrolled, recurrent seizure episodes. Versed, sometimes in combination with other antiseizure medications, can be used for seizure control in such individuals
Alcohol withdrawal
- Individuals on sudden abstinence from alcohol consumption after chronic addiction to alcohol and alcoholic products can present with withdrawal symptoms, such as, agitation, anxiety, and hallucinations.
- Versed, by calming the agitation and anxiety, can help control the symptoms of acute/sudden alcohol withdrawal.
