Patient/caregiver was instructed upon therapeutic use of zoloft as follows:
Substance abuse
- By controlling anxiety and depression, zoloft can help individuals undergoing treatment for long-standing addictions, such as, substance abuse, smoking, and alcohol abuse.
Panic disorders and dysphoria
- By allaying the fears and calming down anxiety, zoloft can help with providing relief from premenstrual syndrome, post-traumatic stress, panic disorders, and dysphoric states.
Obsessive-compulsive disorders (OCDs)
- Anxiety is one major component reinforcing obsessive compulsive behaviors. Zoloft, by reducing the anxiety, help to control the obsessive compulsive behaviors and thus can be used to manage the OCDs.
