Patient was educated on the side effects of using Alogliptin as follows:
- Stomach upset
- Nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea are the most common side effects of using Alogliptin.
- Hypoglycemia
- Alogliptin can increase the action of incretins, contributing to increase in insulin secretion, thereby reducing the blood sugars.
- Alogliptin can sometimes result in episodes of serious hypoglycemia.
- Muscle pain
- Alogliptin can sometimes increase risk of muscle and skeletal pains and fatigue.
