Patient was educated on metered dose inhaler as follows:
- Metered dose inhaler is an inhaler device that delivers liquid medication under pressure with the help of a propellant spray.
- Since they deliver the medication directly into the lungs, a small amount of medication is sufficient to produce the desired effect.
- Metered dose inhalers are used to administer bronchodilator medications and steroids mainly.
- Proper technique during the administration of these medications is needed for appropriate delivery of the medication into the airways and to prevent development of opportunistic infections
- Spacer can be used to metered dose inhaler to improve the delivery of medication into the airway and to prevent wastage of medication.
