Patient was educated on allergic rhinitis as follows:

  1. Allergic rhinitis is a condition that occurs with breathing in material that one is allergic to.
  2. The common allergens include pollen in the air, dust mites, animal dander, and vehicle exhaust.
  3. Rhinitis secondary to pollen inhalation occurs mostly during the spring season, though it can happen during other seasons too.
  4. Allergic rhinitis secondary to pollen is called Hay fever or seasonal allergy.
  5. Common symptoms include itchy and runny nose, watery eyes, and excessive sneezing.
