Patient was educated on importance of phosphorous in maintenance of bones as follows:

  1. Phosphorus is a mineral found in your bones. Calcium and phosphorus absorbed by the human body in a fine balance, from the food eaten, are needed to build strong bones and other skeletal structures of your body.
  2. If this balance is disturbed for any reason, such as, secondary to excessive phosphorus, the extra phosphorus will pull the calcium out of bones, thereby, making the skeletal structures weak.
  3. Weak bones can lead to pathological fractures in due course of time.
