Patient was educated on different dietary sources of phosphorus as follows:

  1. Phosphorus is found naturally in both animal and plant sources.
  2. Phosphorus in the meat, fish, poultry and dairy products are more readily absorbed than plant sources.
  3. Animal sources of phosphorus include fish roe, organ meats, such as, chicken liver and beef liver.
  4. Dairy sources include milk, cheese, ice cream, and yogurt.
  5. High phosphorus beverages include, dark colas, such as, Coke and Pepsi, beer, and chocolate flavored drinks.
  6. Caramel and chocolate candy are also rich sources of phosphorus.
