Patient was educated on lifestyle modifications for peptic ulcers as follows:
- Incorporate probiotic foods, such as, yogurt and aged cheese in your diet.
- Avoid eating undercooked meat and uncooked raw vegetables, as they might lead to infection with H. pylori and aggravation of symptoms of peptic ulcer.
- Avoid consumption of tobacco and alcohol products. Tobacco and alcohol products can cause damage to the inner lining of the stomach and intestines and lead to ulcer formation.
- Maintain a regular exercise schedule to manage stress, as stress is an aggravating factor for peptic ulcer.
- Getting good sleep time and feeling rested will also manage stress levels better. Having an eight hour sleep every day can help promote immunity and ulcer healing.
