Patient was educated on dyspepsia (indigestion) as follows:

  1. Dyspepsia or indigestion is a condition of functional abnormality, primarily of the stomach and small intestine.
  2. This condition is associated with symptoms of
  • Discomfort in the upper abdomen or chest, especially after eating.
  • Fullness in the abdomen.
  • Regurgitation of stomach contents and heartburn.
  • Loss of appetite.
  1. Abdominal fullness and regurgitation makes it difficult to swallow and patients can often present with nausea and vomiting.
  2. Diminished intake of nutrition with vomiting can result in weight loss and can be alarming.
