Patient was educated on picking low sodium foods as follows:
- Selecting foods that are low in sodium and with reduced sodium.
- Look for sodium per each serving.
- Any food that contains less than 5 mg per serving is considered sodium free.
- Any food that contains 35 mg and less of sodium per serving is considered very low sodium food.
- Any food that contains about 140 mg of sodium per serving is considered low sodium.
- Any food that contains less than 5 mg per serving is considered sodium free.
- Foods that have no added salt will have this mentioned on the label.
