Patient/caregiver was educated on contraindications for using Rivastigmine patch as follows:
- Do not use Rivastigmine patch, if you ever manifested any allergic response to use of the patch or to use of the active ingredient of the patch, Rivastigmine. Discuss your history of allergic response to this medication with your physician, without fail.
- In the event of any current manifestations of any allergic response with use of Rivastigmine patch, report it to your physician or other health care personnel immediately, to check regarding your safety with continuing on using the patch.
- Rivastigmine patch use carries the risk of lowering the blood pressure, increase drowsiness and confusion, thus compromising safety and increasing risk for falls and accidents. Rivastigmine patch must be used with extreme caution in individuals with history of hypotension, to avoid episodes of dizziness and confusion and prevent falls and accidents.
