Patient was instructed on how to care for the pacemaker site as follows:
- Maintain compliance with the antibiotic prescribed, if you are given one.
- Consult your doctor for clearance to resume your daily routine. The stress level involved with your occupation, overall health maintenance, and compliance with post procedural instructions will influence the time you should stay away from your work.
- Notify your doctor to report any of the following
- Fever and/or chills.
- Increased pain, redness, swelling, or bleeding or other drainage from the insertion site
- Chest pain/pressure, nausea and/or vomiting, profuse sweating, dizziness and/or fainting.
- Your doctor may give you additional or alternate instructions after the procedure, depending on your situation.
