Patient/caregiver was educated on precautions to be exercised while taking Pyridoxine as follows:
- Do not take Pyridoxine supplement, if you ever manifested any allergic responses to intake of the vitamin. Parenteral preparations of Pyridoxine can contain aluminum and individuals with history of allergic responses to any preparations containing aluminum should avoid having administered parenteral Pyridoxine. In the event of history of an allergic response with Pyridoxine or any preparations containing aluminum, check with your physician regarding your safety with intake of Pyridoxine supplement.
- Take the Pyridoxine supplement at the same time, every day, to avoid forgetting the intake of medication. Taking the supplement at regularly spaced intervals help maintain appropriate blood levels of Pyridoxine needed to derive the beneficial effects.
- Increasing the intake of food naturally rich in Pyridoxine, such as, meat, poultry, nuts, whole grains, bananas, and avocados can significantly help offset the symptoms of Pyridoxine deficiency.
